It’s Almost been a full year of being on my own… I quit my old job last January to pursue freelancing. I can’t even count the amount of days I have stayed up till daylight broke.. all for the rush of meeting the deadline.. It’s 2:30 as I type now… and this is the third day in the row I have sat in front of my computer all day. I know my wife is soooo excited about that.
I’ve got a fever and the only cure is perfect kerning.
O no.. it’s turning into another one of those “designers new years resolution” posts.. I give you full authority to leave now.. I’m just thinking out loud… with my fingers..? All joking aside.. I love my “job” ( I gave it quotes because it does not feel like a job). In the Past I’ve done everything, from working as a stock boy at a Super Target, cashier at Chick-fil-a, shampooing and sweeping floors while trying to get my hair stylist license.. to calling “all skate” and rocking 80’s music as the DJ of a skating rink, and being a project manager of a furniture company. But freelancing is the only Job I have loved… I mean I can’t stop thinking about it, everything thing I see I’m thinking of a project I could use it on.. or I search around design blogs and magazines just because it excites me. I’ve got a fever and the only cure is perfect kerning.
I’m hoping the year 2010 brings great things. I feel I have grown a lot in the past year, met so many amazing people and been able to work on a lot of cool projects… And I still can’t believe I get paid doing it!
Spent all day Tuesday hanging out with Stephen Hunton, Sarah Lynn Card, Gavin Tarquinio and my wife Eryn doing a photoshoot for her upcoming Demo CD. We started out early in the morning up in Dawsonville Ga. at Whisper Production’s Studio, an amazing 7,200 sq feet of space inside and 150 acres outside. We are really excited to see the shots Stephen got, the few sneak peeks we got to see blew us away!
just read a article over at gizmodo… actually i skimmed it and looked at the pictures. you got to give Microsoft a big pat on the back for coming up with a original store concept.. I mean where else can you go that has a “Guru Bar” and a demonstration area? </sarcasm> as you can tell I put as much time into this mockup as they put into the whole concept.
My wife and I dream of moving to NYC… if we could I think we would have to get rid of alot of our furniture and get new items that would fit in a 800< sqf space… it would totally be worth it…
