Been going through the Steve Jobs biography, great book.. brings a lot to light about how crazy of a dude he really was. I always thought he was some sort of zen master and believed in a minimalist lifestyle, but really he was such a control/perfectionist he would rather have nothing than have the wrong something. I’ve found myself doing the same thing, I went 8 months without a work desk.. because I wanted the perfect desk.. I finally gave up and bought a cheap one I could make due with.

This is nothing new, Design is never “new” it’s always an adaption of something else. Heck, look around dribbble the “cool” thing to do is make things look like they where made in the 60′s, 70′s… is that new? no, it’s either better than it was, or repeated exactly how it was. Likewise design does not get worse… I’m pretty sure the 80′s brought us the worst we can see of the web. So we are just repeated bad design as well… I guess we could even be making “bad” design better… but that is still bad design.
