Awesome cover by Walk Off the earth of  Gotye’s Somebody That I used to Know. Almost like this as much as the original.

I have a habit of collecting things. Here are a bunch of analog synthesizers I’ve grabbed from all over the web. Nothing more beautiful than woodgrain, slick panels and a billion knobs. Sorry, I don’t know much about them… and most of them came off tumblr so they just link back to a blackhole.

Just got some photos back from our (eddy) gig a couple weeks ago, thanks Brian Hall for the awesome shots. Pretty sure on stage is the only place I will be seen without glasses.

Like I posted before, I’ve been listening to a lot of Ryan Goslings band “Dead Man’s Bones“. Since Halloween was near my wife and I decided to cover his song “My Body’s A Zombie For you”. Since the original version had a children’s choir we decided to ask our highschool small group to sing along with us. Make sure to check it out and download it for your Halloween party!

I just started listening to Dead Man’s Bones (even though it was released in 2009). This project by Ryan Gosling (yeah the movie guy that all the ladies like) and his buddy Zach Sheilds is more then awesome. I love the unpolished honesty behind it. Both Ryan and Zach decided to play all the instruments on the album… They even set up rules for themselves like: not using a click track while recording, or taking more than three takes per track, letting any imperfections highlight the strengths of the music. To add to the semi creepyness of the album they enlisted Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir to sing along to the songs.

Listening to the whole album throws you back into a time of classic horror movies, and cinematic black and whites tales. Make sure to check it out on iTunes.

Came across this site the other day… and heck of a glad I did! I was feeling like my playlist was becoming stale.. Each day i’m in different moods, hip hop, metal, ambiant electronic, old school punk. It’s great to have a site like Designers.mx to turn on and let the music flow. I have not made it through all the mixes yet.. but so far its been a earfill of awesome!

Currently I’m listening to “kick the day off right” By Daniel Waldron … probably my favorite so far. Oh did i mention all the mixes are created by amazing designer? and the covers alone will melt your face off.

I’ve been messing around with GarageBand on the iPad 2… warning if you enjoy creating music and have a lot to do… don’t download it! you will find yourself sitting for hours playing with everything on it. I’ve been using logic pro for the last couple years so it definitely doesnt stand up to Logics editing power.. but for a casual track or messing around its totally worth the $4.99

Last week talking with my friend Chase (remedy films) about the release of the iPad 2 and its video capabilities, we thought it would be a fun challenge to shoot a full music video only using iPads… and to make it even more fun, why not do it within the first day of it’s launch. Yesterday Chase and Eryn sat in line at the apple store from noon to 5 to grab 3 iPad 2′s. by 11:30 that night we had shot the whole thing. and by 2 this afternoon Chase and Dan had edited the whole video. it was an incredibly fun experience! We had so many talented dancers/friends chip in to make it happen… so thank you guys! special shout out to Kat and Ralph for getting the dancers and “club” lighting all set!
