WordPress 3.3 beta 1 just dropped. I usually don’t get into testing these things out but since it is part of my daily workflow I wanted to get in and see what was new. First off I noticed it was acting a little strange in Chrome, so I switched over to firefox.

New admin menu design – Loving the dark non gradient. very clean and clear.

Along with the new top admin menu bar WordPress 3.3 introduces the admin pointer. These are going to be great to include into a theme giving your users helpful hints.

I really like the  simplicity in the left side menu since WordPress 3.2. They have been able to make it even more simple by giving sub menu items during hover. And when the parent menu item is active it displays all of them.

All the Media icons are gone! finally! I never understood why they where split up into so many different menues.  The WordPress Media section has been ignored for a long time, glad they are putting some thought in it now.

Coolest new feature of the media section in WordPress 3.3 is the “Drag and Drop file to upload”. I tested it with multiple files and it worked amazing.

I love seeing how the WordPress team has continued to make things easier and more minimal over the years, instead of adding adding adding like most CMSs. Looking forward to this release!

A couple weeks ago I went and hung out with my buddy Benj at his office near my house. He is one of the masterminds behind Eyespeak here in Atlanta… Little did I know he also shares the passion for creating interior environments. Eyespeak is definitely a hub of inspiration, from the wood rock climbing wall to the table made from scraps of wood during the building process… and who couldn’t use a massive foam pit to jump into when a client is changing deadlines? I let him know since they are 4 miles from my house I will be stealing one of the work spots and claiming it as my own.

I took a few snapshots to share here :-) make sure to check out eyespeaks site for more info on them!

Here’s to the Crazy ones

Love this version of the classic apple ad, voiced over by the man himself Steve Jobs. I think the internet stood still with the news of his death yesterday. R.I.P. Steve. Getting one of your Mac Classics back in the 90′s sparked my interested in digital art.
